Tropicamide with Phenylephrine Ophthalmic Solution
Tropicamide +Phenylephrine is related to the class of medicines called ‘Ophthalmic agents’ used for monitoring the eye during the diagnosis or detection of any eye disease, or therapeutic procedures. This can help check eye inflammation or any other eye diseases such as uveitis (inflammation of the middle layer of the eyewall) in ophthalmoscopy procedures (retinal examination) or during eye surgeries.
Tropicamide +Phenylephrine is a mixture of two medicines: Tropicamide and Phenylephrine. Tropicamide is an anticholinergic medicine, while Phenylephrine is a decongestant. They act by making the pupil of your eye larger and relaxing the muscles in your eye. This allows proper observation of the inside of your eye.
Tropicamide +Phenylephrine Eye Drops is a medicine that helps to increase the size of the pupil of the eye so that eye examinations can be done properly. Tropicamide +Phenylephrine Eye Drops also provide relief from eye pain by providing relaxation to the eye muscles. These eye drops start to work in minutes, and their effect usually lasts 24 hours or sometimes longer. This eye drop is advisable to inform your doctor if you continue to have blurred vision, sensitivity to light, or dilated (increase in size) pupils several days after your examination.
This eye drop is for external use only. Use this eye drop in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Read the label for information before use. Carry the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Normally squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Gently rub out extra liquid.
